Fashion History Goes Viral, Instagram Reels Hit Connected TV, and AI Creator Platform Humanz Raises $15M
In this edition: InfluencerInfluencer Wesley Breed explains the history of furniture, Instagram Reels expands onto connected TV screens, and Humanz raises $15M as brands double down on scalable creator infrastructure.

Fashion History Goes Viral
NYC-based creator Wesley Breed has built a following of more than 680,000 by turning fashion history into tightly scripted, story-driven short-form videos designed to be saved, shared, and revisited.

Breed focused early on structure: a clear lane, repeatable formats, and utility-first storytelling. His breakout moment came when he shifted from thrift hauls to educational explainers, content that delivered lasting value and signaled expertise.
Every video is scripted, narrated, and optimized for retention, using narrative setups that reward viewers for watching through.
Storytelling that respects the audience, compresses complex ideas, and carries cultural weight is becoming a durable advantage in an increasingly crowded feed.
Instagram Reels Hit Connected TV

Short-form video is officially moving into the living room.
Meta has begun testing Instagram Reels on connected TV, starting with Fire TV devices in the U.S., positioning Reels as a lean-back, shared viewing experience rather than a scroll-first mobile product.
Reels on TV reframes social video as channels, not feeds. Content is grouped by interests, plays automatically with sound, and removes friction like endless scrolling. The test signals Meta’s intent to compete more directly with YouTube as social video continues to capture a growing share of TV time.
What This Means for Digital Creators
More surface area for discovery as short-form content reaches lean-back TV audiences beyond mobile.
Stronger demand for retention-driven storytelling, not quick scroll hooks, as videos autoplay on bigger screens.
New monetization pathways as creators increasingly intersect with CTV ads, FAST channels, and brand-funded formats.
Social platforms are becoming part of the TV ecosystem itself, reshaping how audiences discover, watch, and share content.
AI Creator Platform Humanz Raises $15M
Humanz has raised $15 million in new funding and acquired U.S.-based influencer companies Ubiquitous and Bambassadors, pushing its total capital raised to $32 million and signaling an aggressive expansion strategy heading into 2026.
The acquisitions deepen Humanz’s foothold in the U.S., now its primary growth market, adding enterprise brand relationships, performance-focused creator networks, and proprietary APIs built for paid social and user-generated content.
At the center of the strategy is performance and accountability, not scale for scale’s sake.
Humanz emphasizes AI-powered vetting, real-time analytics, and attribution tied directly to sales, responding to brand demand for creator programs that move beyond awareness into conversion.
With reported 250% year-over-year growth and support for more than one million creators, the company is betting that consolidation and measurement, not fragmentation, will define the next phase of the creator economy.
The Driven Podcast:
I sat down with Ian Boggs to break down how he went from posting daily Shorts to generating hundreds of millions of views and building a creator business capable of hitting seven figures in a single month.
Ian walks through the mindset shifts behind sustainable growth, why early viral wins can be deceptive, and how obsession, consistency, and niche discipline compound over time. We dig into Shorts strategy, retention mechanics, thumbnails for short-form, team building, and how he thinks about monetization beyond views.
