šŸ•¹ļø Roblox Tops Steam with 45M Players

Roblox hit a record 45 million concurrent players on August 23, passing Steam’s best peak by 5 million. The spike came from the meme-filled mode Steal a Brainrot, where players swap bizarre creations for in-game money. For context, Fortnite’s record is 14.3 million and Minecraft averages 32 million daily players.

In Q2 2025, Roblox paid out $300 million to developers. Some top modes are built by full teams, but kids remain the main creators, often experimenting with AI tools. Monetization is tougher than on other platforms since developers need at least 30,000 Robux to cash out and only receive about a third of the real value.

About half of U.S. kids ages 6 to 16 play Roblox, while just one in ten users is over 25. That massive youth audience drives growth but also sparks criticism over moderation and safety. Even so, Roblox keeps climbing, and reports suggest Rockstar has enlisted Roblox and Fortnite creators for GTA 6.
