🎥 YouTube Demonetizes AI Content

@iamkylebalmer

Ai generated vids are about to be demonetised over on Youtube. And i’m sure on all the social platforms too shortly. These platforms real... See more

YouTube is getting serious about cutting out low-effort, AI-driven content. Having started yesterday, its updated monetization rules will block videos that feel mass-produced, repetitive, or just plain lazy. While Alphabet keeps investing in AI tools like Gemini, YouTube wants no part in flooding the platform with generic uploads.

This isn’t a brand-new policy, it’s really just a clearer stance. YouTube says these types of videos were already disqualified under existing rules, but now the language leaves less room for loopholes. The bottom line here is that if your content doesn’t show creativity or originality, at least in Alphabet’s eyes, don’t expect to get paid.

What Creators Should Watch Out For

  • Mass-produced, repetitive, or low-effort AI content is now clearly ineligible for monetization.

  • Videos must show original input, even if AI is used in the process.

  • “Inauthentic” now covers AI-generated content with little editorial value

AI tools aren’t banned, but lazy use of them won’t cut it. If you’re using AI, make sure your final product brings something new to the table. Otherwise, you’re risking your spot in the Partner Program and an increase to your ad revenue.

🤖 Ask Studio Launches New Tool

Aniket Mishra / YouTube Ask Studio.

YouTube is quietly testing an experimental feature called Ask Studio, an AI-powered assistant built to help creators work smarter. Spotted by strategist Aniket Mishra, the tool offers chatbot-style support in three key areas: summarizing comments, reviewing analytics, and brainstorming content ideas. While YouTube hasn’t officially announced it, a reveal is expected in an upcoming Creator Insider video.

Ask Studio reflects a broader shift toward platforms embedding AI to support creators, not just marketers. Similar to TikTok’s Creator Assistant, it helps users extract insights from data and shape content strategies more efficiently.

For solo creators or even strategists, Ask Studio could become a useful sidekick. It’s not a replacement for human judgment, but it’s a strong tool for streamlining planning, validating ideas, and scaling creativity with less friction.

🅾 Edits Gets a Creator-Focused Upgrade

Meta’s video editing app Edits just dropped a set of updates designed to help creators stay on top of their workflow. Instead of flashy new effects, this round focuses on the Ideas tab, adding simple but smart tools to keep projects organized.

Users can now save audio, leave sticky notes on clips, and mark ideas as “done” with a quick strikethrough. New filters make it easier to sort by status, edit date, creation date, or even color, giving creators more control over their content pipeline.

Why This Matters to Digital Creators

  1. 75% of creators say they juggle multiple projects at once.

  2. Sticky notes with filters improve task management.

  3. Saved audio features streamline creative flow by reducing time spent re-finding sounds that sparked ideas.

  4. Visual status tracking (to-do vs. done) improves turnaround time by simplifying decision-making during editing.

  5. For solo creators, centralized tools like these can boost productivity by up to 30%, according to industry benchmarks.

To me, these updates are the kind that make daily creative work smoother. For short-form creators juggling ideas on the fly, Edits is shaping up to be a reliable workspace for managing the entire content process.
